George Crockett Academy (GCA), a kindergarten through 8th grade public school academy, located at 4851 14th Street, Detroit, MI 48208, is looking for assistance with improving student achievement.
The Board of Directors of George Crockett Academy wishes to receive sealed bids for the following services:
• Summer school tutoring, to be provided from approximately, Monday, July 2, 2012 through approximately, Friday, August 3, 2012 at George Crockett Academy.
• The total number of students would be between 75 and 150, with no more than five (5) students per tutor.
• We are asking that tutors have at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (not virtual institution) and would have at least five (5) years of teaching in an urban environment.
• The instruction that the students would receive should be strictly focused on improving reading, writing and arithmetic as they are related to Scantron and Michigan Education Assessment Program.
• Students will receive instruction from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Sealed bids should arrive by Wednesday, June 6th at 2 p.m. addressed to Mary Lou Van Antwerp, school leader.
