Curriculum
George Crockett Academy utilizes the KC4 Curriculum, which is aligned to the Michigan Curriculum Framework and grade level content expectations. In grades K through five, the instructional program takes place within a self-contained classroom with some classes with exchanging for some curriculum areas. In grades six through eight, a departmental approach is used. The goal of the curriculum is to develop in students a respect for themselves and others as well as an ever-increasing knowledge of the world and the skills they will need to improve their lives. The curriculum is evaluated each year by the staff, using the needs of the students, test results, and the School Improvement Plan as measures. If you have concerns about your child’s educational progress, George Crockett Academy has a Teacher Assistance Team composed of a school social worker, speech/language personnel, and other educational professionals to address the needs of your child. Concerned parents should contact their child’s teacher, the special education teacher or the school leader.
