Charlotte Smiley • LRE aide
Mrs. Charlotte Smiley services students in the capacity of LRE assistant (Least Restrictive Environment) in grades K -8. She has been on staff with George Crockett Academy for 6.5 years. Prior to joining George Crockett's staff she served students of Woodward Academy for 4 years as the Resource Room Assistant for special education. Mrs. Smiley earned her Associate of Applied Sciences Degree in Substance Abuse and Mental Health Counseling from Wayne Community College District. Mrs. Smiley has taken and passed the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification. She is currently enrolled at Wayne State University pursuing her Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education. Mrs. Smiley's goal is to impact the lives of students in ways that afford them the confidence and academic skills to become successful in their life pursuits. She reminds herself of her goal every morning during her morning meditation with a little saying she created “Today I will set my students up for "YES" (Years of Educational Success).
